Bookkeeping Service Consultations for Small Businesses

As a future business client, the initial consultation meeting typically takes place at your place of business, as that’s where much of the information we would need is located, but under certain circumstances we can arrange to meet at our office or elsewhere.

To make a fair assessment of the services you might need, and the cost of the services we’ll provide, we really need to know everything about your business, such as:

• What kind of work is the business doing currently?
• How does the business run and operate?
• What is the typical process for how you invoice your clients?
• How do you receive payments from your clients?
• How do you pay your bills?
• How do you process your payroll?

Next, as part of the quotation and pricing process, we’ll ask you questions about your actual transactions. We will want to see what an invoice looks like, copies of your bank and credit card statements, and possibly additional financial records. We’ll take a look at your QuickBooks files so that we can see how many checks you’re writing monthly, how many invoices you produce, how many deposits you make, etc.

Bookkeeping Service Consultations for Not-For-Profit Organizations

When we conduct a consultation with Not-For-Profit’s, we also need to consider other facts, such as your reporting needs:

• What kind of grant reporting do you have to do
• How often must you file grant reports
• Who are you reporting to
• What does the form that has to be completed look like
• Is the reporting process available online.

Often, we’ll ask you to actually walk us through the process so that we know how much reporting is required. Sometimes these reports can be pretty lengthy, complex processes to complete. It may take hours to put together the grant report required by the organization that provided the grant. Elder Care Accounting Consultations

Elder Care is a bit different. Often, we are appointed as Financial Guardian by the court, so no consultation is involved.
