Seeking Accountants Looking For Better Balance!

We are currently looking to hire an accountant who is seeking a better work-life balance.

Do you work longer hours than you’d like?
Do you want more time with to honor personal commitments, such as family and friends?
Do you seek a more family focused work environment?

If the answer to those questions is YES, you’ve come to the right place. We’re always looking for the right person to fit the Foster Results mold; someone that wants a better personal life / work balance. Someone that wants to belong to, and be part of, an organization that looks out for the best for their clients, that will take “ownership” of the client, and treat them as if it was their own business. Someone that will point out out both the good and the bad they see in the client’s business.

"After working with Jennifer at another company, I didn't really have any doubt about coming to work for her own company. I had seen what she did for that company."
" I knew her background and how capable she was. When she sets her mind to do something, she makes sure that she gets it done. At Foster Results each client is different and has different needs. Our goal is to meet their needs, not the other way around."

According to Jennifer Foster, President of Foster Results, “The hard part of finding the right fit is that many accountants just don’t have the outgoing personalities required to be able to communicate on a daily basis with their individual clients. They have to want to be involved in that client’s business.

“In a typical CPA firm, tax time is the busy season; requiring employees to work six, or even seven days a week during the season, sometimes for 10 or 12 hours a day. At Foster Results, we don’t have a tax season. We generally have one busy month, January, and still don’t come anywhere near the amount of hours the big accounting firms do.”

For the mostpart, our accounting staff works from home three days a week and in the office the other two, which gives them an opportunity to pick up work that comes to the office, as well as develop personal relations with their co-workers. It is also important that we are able to help each other, so that if someone gets stuck with a problem, they’re able to come into the office and work with the other accountants to find a resolution to the problem. And we are not your typical office full of “gossipy women.” We actually have a strict “no-gossip” policy.”

All accountants come to the office on the same day once every two weeks for staff meeting; other than that, they have a flexible schedule. They just need to stay in communication with the client and make sure that the required work gets done in a timely fashion. They don’t need to ask permission if they want to go out to lunch or need to take their child to the doctor.

We are looking for talented accountants who have:

  • Bachelors in accounting (or associates and comparable experience)
  • Small business accounting software experience (QuickBooks, Peachtree,
    etc.)
  • Background in private and public accounting
  • Five year minimum experience with:
    • Non-profit organizations
    • Multiple companies while in one position
    • Job costing
    • General ledger
    • Accounts payable
    • Accounts receivable
    • Bank/account reconciliation
    • Payroll and payroll taxes
    • Sales tax
    • Property tax
    • Month end closing and financial reporting
    • On-line banking
  • Flexibility
  • Ability to multitask
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work in sometimes chaotic environment
  • Communication skills (training experience is a plus)
  • Ability to work with various types of people

Because our accountants are the direct interface with the client, the ones our clients go to with questions, they need to have the knowledge and skills that only real life experience brings and be able to share the information with the clients to answer their questions.

We understand that even though it’s accounting, it’s not always black and white. A positive attitude, desire to grow and develop and a sense of humor are crucial.
